Ok onto the good stuff. I joined a KAL via Ravelry: The SF One Sock a Month Club. Basically, the group votes on a sock pattern that we will all knit together over two months (one sock each month. For June and July, we chose the 9-to-5 Sock by Nicole Hindes. Then, every month, we get together at H Cafe and ImagiKnit to have coffee, share our sock progress, chat, and do some serious stash enhancing. Sunday was our 1st meeting. This was the 1st time I've actually met people in real life that I was first introduced to online, so I was really nervous and almost talked myself out of going. I'm really glad I went...my fellow KALers were so much fun to chat/shop with, and I'm truly looking forward to next months meeting. All you non-knitting readers/readers who aren't as crazy about knitting may think I've gone completely nuts (err, more nuts than usual), but oh well...I enjoyed myself. And I must say, H Cafe makes a pretty good iced mocha!
Aside from the 9-to-5 socks, I have quite a few other things on my needles:
- My Printed Silk Cardigan. As much as I adore the yarn and the pattern, I don't have the attention span to have a sweater as my only project.
- My 1st ever lace-weight project, the Juno Regina stole. I have been wanting to knit this for ages, but I just couldn't handle the laceweight yarn. After getting more experience with sock yarn, I was able to take the plunge into the thinner laceweight. The yarn and this pattern are truly gorgeous, and I can't wait to share the pictures! The bad news: lace knitting requires complete concentration, and lately I just haven't been so good at that.
- My Anastasia socks. These are getting the most needle action, as they are a quicker and relatively mindless knit. I fell in love with the yarn immediately, and this pattern compliments it perfectly. Photos to come soon!
So I suppose that is all for now. Until next time...
